Helen D. Given, 93

CONCORD — Helen D. Given, 93, of Havenwood, passed away on Sept. 22, 2026, at her residence.

Helen was born on Oct. 3, 1932, in Somerville, Massachusetts, to the late Arthur and Regina (Hebert) Pickering.

She was an Honor Society graduate of Somerville High School. Helen worked in the actuary department at John Hancock Co. in Boston, Massachusetts, and later at Alphatron, Haverhill, Massachusetts, as an assembler. In her retirement, she enjoyed traveling with her husband John, and volunteering at the St. Vincent de Paul Thrift Store. Her family was her greatest joy. She loved being a mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Helen is survived by her sons, Thomas and his wife Doreen of Warner, Robert and his wife Karen of Nottingham, and Kenneth Given of Londonderry; her daughter, Donna Werda and her husband Peter of Center Conway; a daughter-in-law, Johanne Given of Haverhill, Massachusetts; eight grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She is predeceased by her parents, husband John R. Given in 2018, sister Doris Schultz and her husband Francis, and sister Mildred Spellman.

A graveside service will be held at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 14, at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery, Boscawen.
