MEREDITH — Frances Theresa (Troccoli) Governanti, 85, of Meredith, passed away peacefully on Jan. 9, 2026, while residing at the Goffstown Nursing Home.

Born March 24, 1940, in Uniondale, New York, she was the daughter of the late Hellen (Baldi) Troccoli and Pat Troccoli. Fran, known to many as "Bunny," graduated from Sacred Heart Academy in Hempstead, Long Island. She married Anthony Michael Governanti on June 3, 1962.

Bunny was a loving, dedicated, and energetic wife, mother, Nana, and friend. A successful businesswoman, she opened the Alexandria Lamp Shop c. 1977 in Alexandria, initially selling kerosene lamps. She later expanded it into a thriving antique and collectibles store, moving the business to New Hampton, and then to Meredith. Joined by her husband Tony c. 1987, the shop became one of the largest dealers and parts distributors of Aladdin Kerosene Lamps in the Northeast, before she retired in 2022.

Bunny had a passion for snorkeling during her frequent Caribbean vacations, especially to Bonaire, which she shared with her husband and lifelong friends Vince and Louise Elstob. She also loved gardening, photography, and was a devoted animal lover, caring for many cats and dogs throughout her life.

She was predeceased by her husband, Anthony Michael Governanti (2013); her parents; her brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Janet Trocolli; and lifelong friend Vincent Elstob.

She is survived by her three sons, Bartolo Rhesa, Vincenzo and his fiancée Shelly, and Anthony and his wife Elizabeth; her four grandchildren, Talia, Tessa, Domenic and Donovan; and her nieces Nancy and Lynn and nephew Paul.

Services will be private. A celebration of life will be scheduled in the early summer of 2026 in Meredith. In lieu of flowers or cards, the family requests that donations be made in Fran’s name to your local ASPCA or animal shelter.
