Ernest Charles Roy, age 59, of Belmont, passed away on Aug. 1, 2026, at home after a brief illness surrounded by family and friends.
Born on Jan. 14, 1967, in Natick, Massachusetts, he was the loving son of Ernest and Shiela Roy of Medfield, Massachusetts. Growing up, Ernie was known for his kind heart, quick laugh, and adventurous spirit. He graduated from Tri-County Regional Vocational Technical High School in Franklin, Massachusetts, and worked in metal fabrication before moving to New Hampshire. There, he started his own business, Dog Watch of the Lakes Region, and obtained his real estate license. Outside of work, Ernie loved fishing, cooking, motorcycles, gold panning, metal detecting, and spending time with his beloved dogs. He had a unique ability to bring joy to those around him and was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.
He was also a member of Liberty Bible Baptist Church in Hooksett.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Shiela Roy. He is survived by his loving brother, Alan Roy, and nephew Alden Roy, along with Stephanie, Jake and Robert Mason, close friend Brett Balanger, and many other family members and friends who will miss him dearly.
A funeral service will be held from noon to 2 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 14, at Paquette-Neun Funeral Home, located at 104 Park St., Northfield.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Liberty Bible Baptist Church, 38 Longmeadow Drive, Concord, NH 03301.
The Paquette-Neun Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
