LACONIA — Edward “Eddie” Martin McEvoy, 61, of Washington Street, passed away at his residence on March 5, 2026.

Eddie was born on Nov. 28, 1964, in Willingboro, New Jersey, the son of the late Arthur B. and Mary Francis (Marquis) McEvoy.

Eddie was a construction superintendent for many years.

His favorite hobby was providing boat charter services on lakes Winnipesaukee and Winnisquam, and was affectionally known by all as Captain Eddie.

He enjoyed golfing with his brothers, hunting, fishing, skiing, curling, traveling, and time with his family. He was the 1982 and 1983 NH State Ski Racing champion. He later raced professionally on the Peugeot Pro Ski Tour. Eddie was also a competitive golfer and won the Shattuck Golf Club Championship in the early 1990s. He loved his chihuahua Sophia, aka Nibbles.

Eddie is survived by his wife Kellie Marie (Dawes) McEvoy; son Spencer McEvoy and his wife Bridget; stepdaughter Rachel Anderholm; brothers Arthur and Jeanne McEvoy of Shapleigh, Maine, Donald and Greta McEvoy of North Hampton, Frederick and Kirky McEvoy of Peterborough, Michael McEvoy and Jaime Dumont of Ashburnham, Massachusetts, and Patrick and Tammy McEvoy of Hubbardston, Massachusetts; sisters Barbara Boner and her late husband Robert of Methuen, Massachusetts, and Carey and Bob Mignanelli of Laconia; two grandchildren, Aubrey Hamel and Blake Anderholm of Baldwinville, Massachusetts; and several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday, March 13, in the Carriage House at the Wilkinson-Beane-Simoneau-Paquette Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant St.

A celebration of life will be held early this summer.
