LACONIA — Edward J. Boucher Sr., 71, of 130 Endicott St. North, #315 in Laconia died Monday, December 08, 2003 at the Lakes Region General Hospital in Laconia following a sudden illness. He was born in Yonkers, New York, September 26 1932, the son of Alyce and David Mack of Ashland, Mass., where he schooled. He lived there for many years, later moving to Framingham, Mass. He lived there until moving to Laconia 10 years ago.

For over thirty years he was employed as a letter carrier for the U. S. Postal Service in Framingham, Mass. He was a member of the National Association of Letter Carriers. He worked as a security guard at BJ-TJ Max Corporate Headquarters in Natick. After moving to New Hampshire he was a service clerk at Hannaford Brothers in Gilford. He served with the U.S. Army from 1952 until 1955. He was a communicant of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church in Belmont, and was active with prison ministry and the Kairos Program. His family includes, his wife, Linda (Svenson) Ashworth-Boucher of Laconia; three sons, Edward (Ted) Boucher Jr. of Hyannis, Mass., David Boucher of Saugus, Mass., and David Ashworth of Boylston, Mass.; a daughter, Beth Leger of Billerica, Mass.; seven grandchildren; two brothers, David Mack of Natick and Laurence Boucher of Maryland; a sister, Dorothy Plourde of North Carolina; and nieces and nephews

Calling hours will be Wednesday from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. in the William F. Smart Sr. Memorial Home, Franklin-Tilton Road in Tilton. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Church in Belmont. Celebrant will be Reverend Albert Tremblay Jr, Pastor. Burial with honors will be in the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen.

The William F.Smart Sr. Memorial Home of Tilton is assisting the Boucher family with arrangements.

The family requests that memorial donations be made to the Charles Svenson Special Needs Trust Fund, C/O Fitzgerald, Sessler and Nichols, PA, 11 Academy Street, Laconia, NH 03246.
