LACONIA — Doris G. Marshall, 96, of 30 County Drive, died Saturday, August 16, 2014 at Belknap County Nursing Home.

She was born on April 7, 1918 in Laconia, the daughter of Harvey and Eva (Gauthier) Grant and was a lifelong resident of Laconia. Doris worked for several years as a bookkeeper for the Gilford Town Clerk's Office. She was a member of the Friends of the Library in Laconia, the Kitchen Band, a member of the Laconia Senior Center and the Franklin Senior Center and was a past member of Our Lady of the Lakes Church. Doris was also a Girl Scout Leader for several years.

She is survived by her son, William A. Marshall and his longtime friend, Annette Clark of Pembroke, a daughter, Mary Ann Locke and her husband Robert of New Boston, three grandchildren and three great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Arthur W. "Bill" Marshall in 1983 and two sisters; Gladys Blake and Vera Stinson.

Doris' family would like to extend their sincere thanks to the entire staff of the Belknap County Nursing Home for the thoughtful care she received during her time at their facility.

There will be no calling hours.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Thursday, August 21, 2014 at St. Andre Bessette Parish - Sacred Heart Church, 291 Union Avenue, Laconia, NH.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Belknap County Nursing Home – Activities Fund, 30 County Drive, Laconia, NH 03246.
