LACONIA — Diana Lynn (Lovett) Johnson, beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on Jan. 4, 2026, at the age of 74.
Born on May 12, 1952, in Laconia, Diana, known as Diane, was the beloved daughter of Elizabeth and Richard Lovett. One of her first jobs was with Annalee Dolls and she retired with J. Jill after almost 15 years.
She married the love of her life Dennis Johnson on July 11, 1970. Together they built a life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. They raised three children, Wendy, Dana and Chris, who will forever be grateful for her unconditional love and support. Nothing brought her more joy than spending time with her family and her “camp family” at Totem Pole Park.
Diane was actively involved in the Totem Pole Park community, where she played an integral role in park activities. She proudly ran the famous horseshoe tournament, lovingly prepared her well-known “super beans” for park gatherings, and always made sure to have candy on hand for her honorary grandchildren — small gestures that reflected her generous heart and brought joy to so many.
She is survived by her husband, Dennis Johnson; daughter Wendy Sexton; sons Dana Johnson and his wife Kari and Chris Johnson and his wife Jody. In addition to her children, Diane is survived by four grandchildren, Brandon Johnson, Tyler Johnson, Connor Johnson and fiancée Kylie Bean, Andrew Riopel; four great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends who were lucky enough to know her by her feisty attitude, honesty, and loving heart.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard Lovett and his wife Elizabeth (Lepage), and her in-laws, Richard Johnson and his wife Dorothy (Matott).
Calling hours will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 9, in the Carriage House at Wilkinson-Beane-Simoneau-Paquette Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant St.
A celebration of life to honor and celebrate Diane’s life will be held between noon and 5 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 10, at the American Legion located at 849 N. Main St. Friends and family are invited to attend to pay their respects, share their memories, and celebrate the beautiful life of Diane.
Spring burial will be held at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery, Boscawen.
The family would like to thank the fifth-floor staff at Concord Hospital for their compassion and care during her last days.
