LACONIA — Charles E. Farquharson Jr., 55, died suddenly at the Lakes Region General Hospital on Friday, Aug. 11, 2017, after a long battle with kidney and heart failure.
Charles was born in Concord, son of the late Charles Farquharson Sr. and Ida (Snay) Farquharson.
Charles spent most of his life in Laconia and was a graduate of Laconia High School. Prior to his retirement Charles worked as a machinist at Aavid Thermal Technologies in Laconia.
Charles was a master of all trades, and he was an exceptional carpenter and artist. He was active and enjoyed scuba diving.
He absolutely loved children. He enjoyed spending time playing with his nieces and nephews. He had a very special place in his heart for his great-niece Allieanna Steele. She completely enjoyed bossing him around, painting his nails and using his tablet to play games. He had an exceptional sense of humor and a strong personality. Charles spent many years in Nevada, where he enjoyed life to the fullest. He had many stories of his adventures.
Charles is survived by his son, Kevin Farquharson; his sisters, Pauline Nadeau and her husband Mel of Tilton, Kathleen Carlino and her husband Vincent from Long Island, New York, and Ida Haynes of Laconia; and his brother, Donald Farquharson and his wife Irene Farquharson of Gilford. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed by all.
In addition to his parents, Charles was predeceased by his brothers, Larry Farquharson, and Wilfred Farquharson, and sisters, Judith Daniels and Patricia Davis.
Funeral services are private and will be held at the convenience of the family.
