LACONIA — Charles David Hill, 74, of Lido Lane, passed away peacefully at his home in the care of his loving wife of more than 50 years, Pauline (Larose) Hill, on Dec. 29, 2025.

Charles was born on Feb. 19, 1951, in Laconia, the youngest son of Roland and Gladys (Hamilton) Hill.

He enjoyed the outdoors, including camping, skiing, bicycling and motorcycling, and was an accomplished finish carpenter, building his own home and a number of furniture pieces. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family, whom he shared many laughs with. He had a dry, witty sense of humor that was guaranteed to garner an unexpected laugh and many times had a touching life lesson attached for good measure. His wife, Pauline was his high school sweetheart and best friend. He was a role model for how to be a good partner, husband, father and grandfather.

Charles is survived by his loving wife, Pauline (Larose) Hill; sons Joshua and Theresa Hill and Timothy and Jaclyn Hill; daughter Andrea and Matthew Stevens; five grandchildren, Madison Stevens, Gabriella Stevens, Olivia Hill, Dahlia Hill and Lincoln Hill; brother Roland and Joyce Hill; and sister Joanne Jenkins. In addition to his parents, Charles is predeceased by his sisters Kathleen Wicks and Arline Pratt.

Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 9, at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Garfield Street.
