Bruce P. Eisenhauer, 80, of Tilton, died peacefully at home with his family on Dec. 31, 2023.
He was born in Detroit, Michigan, the son of Charles Bond Eisenhauer and Dorothy (Bradshaw) Eisenhauer. He graduated from Essex Agricultural & Technical High School in Danvers, Massachusetts, and completed an associate degree at Stockbridge School of Agriculture, UMass Amherst.
Bruce resided in Laconia prior to making his home in Tilton.
He worked as a florist in Massachusetts and Pennsylvania for over 20 years. He later worked as a conductor with the Winnipesaukee Railroad, beginning in 1984 and with Amtrak from 1989 until his retirement 11 years later. Bruce loved trains and collected Lionel trains since he was 8 years old. He designed, built and operated a layout for trains at the Laconia Antique Center.
Bruce loved crafts and making holiday decor. He enjoyed music, especially Sarah Brightman and the Carpenters. Favorite movies were “Under the Tuscan Sun,” “You Can’t Take it With You,” “Midnight,” “Must Love Dogs” and “Cross Creek.”
His family includes husband Carlton LaSalle of Tilton; a son, David Eisenhauer and his wife Anna of Hooksett; and his faithful golden retriever, Colby.
He was predeceased by his parents; his wife Ruth (White) Eisenhauer, who died in 2011; a sister, Barbra Williams; and a brother, Warren Eisenhauer; and his golden retrievers Tyler and Brendan.
Burial will be at a later date in Waterside Cemetery in Marblehead, Massachusetts.
