CENTER HARBOR — Bonnie Mae Burgess, 75, of Kelsea Avenue, passed away on July 11, 2024, at home surrounded by her loved ones: Carmen, Brooke, and her pride and joy dog Bentley-Gene.

Bonnie was born on Oct. 28, 1948, in Wolfeboro, the daughter of the late Charles A. Leighton Jr. and Louise (Stacy) Leighton.

Bonnie was married to the love of her life, Eugene F. Burgess Jr., for over 51 years. Bonnie enjoyed spending time with the girls, Elaine and Dolly. She also loved her lunch outings and adventures with Adrian and Louis.

Bonnie is predeceased by her husband Eugene F. Burgess Jr; sister Beverly Mercier; and brothers Larry Leighton and Wendel Leighton. She is survived by two daughters; four grandchildren; two brothers; one sister; three nephews; and three nieces.

The family suggests that memorial donations be made in Bonnie’s name to concordforhometownheroesbanners.com. All donations will help fill her hometown with banners of local hometown heroes.

A graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, July 31, at New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery, 101 Daniel Webster Hwy, Boscawen.
