SANBORNTON — Barbara J. Joyce, 75, of Sanbornton, died at Concord Hospital on August 18, 2020.
She was born in Franklin the daughter of Donald Akerman and Alice (Cowan) Akerman. Barbara was raised in Franklin and graduated from Franklin High School. She worked at various factories lastly at NH Ball Bearing in Laconia.
Barbara had a love of family that was unparalleled. She took great pride in everything she did.
Many fun times playing baseball at the family farm and being picked on by all the kids. Never said no to anyone asking for help. She could bark but had the heart of a marshmallow. Known to most as “Barbie,” she will be sorely missed.
Family members include her husband of 53 years, Norman A. Joyce Sr. of Sanbornton; 2 sons: Norman A. Joyce Jr. and wife Juanita of VA, and Robert D. Joyce of Sanbornton; 3 grandchildren, Travis A. Joyce of VA, and David Joyce and Logan Joyce, both of Sanbornton; one brother, Larry and wife Josette of Tenn.; 3 sisters: Nancy DeBlois of Bristol, Betsy Trottier and husband Dennis of Salisbury, and Cindy DeFosses and husband Ray of Franklin; two sisters-in-law, Suzanne Akerman of Northfield, and Juanita Akerman of Franklin; and many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by 3 brothers, Donald, Norman, and Peter, and a grandson, Andrew Joyce in 1992.
Walk-through visiting hours will be held Monday (8/24/2020) morning from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. at Thibault-Neun Funeral Home, 143 Franklin St., Franklin. Face mask and social distancing are required. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Alexandria at 1:00 pm.
