Arthur "Art" Peter Richard, 78 years young, formerly of Franklin, passed away peacefully on Jan. 24, 2026, in Molino, Florida, where he has resided the last 51 years with his loving wife June Richard.
He was born Oct. 17, 1948, to Aldrich "Big Al" and Beatrice "Bea" (Fleury) Richard at Fort Monroe (Fort Bragg), Virginia. He spent the rest of his life caring for his 4-acre little animal sanctuary with horses, goats and dogs. He loved the peaceful area where he lived — no noise of the traffic, just the country life. In her free time June took care of the cats that she had rescued and gave them a forever home.
Throughout his life Art had a multi-faceted career background that included Tilton/Northfield Police Department, Polyclad (Franklin), Regal Cinema as an usher (loved the movies), Berkshire College, salesman at Video Vendor, Quaker Cabinet, his local jewelry store, and on the side moonlighted as the mall cop (if you really knew him you know this was fitting for him). The last 20 years of his career he was the manager of Buster Brown shoe store, worked at Lowe’s, and finished out his career at U-Haul and loved this job as he got to travel all over.
He is survived by his wife June, his brother Donald Richard and his wife Denise Richard and their two adult children, Amanda Richard and Brandon Richard and his wife Lauren Richard and two kids, Logan and Nolan.
Until we meet again *143*.
