CENTER HARBOR — Anna Amy (George) Thompson, nicknamed "Annie Oakley," 88, died on April 12, 2026, in Concord Hospital-Laconia following a sudden illness.
Anna was born in Wolfeboro, on Aug. 6, 1937, the daughter of Russell and Hazel (Cochran) George. She graduated from Inter-Lakes High School as salutatorian of her class in 1955.
Anna enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, sewing, knitting and canning — making pickles. And her grandchildren most of all.
She was predeceased by her husband Robert Thompson, by her sister Marina Bellot, and brother Arthur George.
Anna is survived by her four children, Robin, Oliver, Dotty (Bill Remson) and Danny (Roxanne); her sister Mary Blaisdell (Arlo); her grandchildren, Geneva Provencher, Marina Patten, Blake Remson, Robert Thompson, Trever Thompson, Joe Thompson and Tessa Thompson; and her great-grandchildren, Gianna Meader, Anthony Meader, Liam McAddam, Riona Patten, Layla Patten, Lillian Patten and Lucas Bresse.
Calling hours will be held on from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Monday, April 20, at the Dupuis Funeral Home, 11 Hill Ave., Ashland.
