NEW HAMPTON — Angela Carmen (née Lance) Hurd, passed away on June 28, 2025, peacefully at home surrounded by her loving husband and children.

Born on March 13, 1974, in Plymouth, Angela was a devoted mother, sister, Mimi and friend. She was known for her calm demeanor, kindness, warmth and nurturing soul.

Angela grew up in Meredith and was a graduate of Inter-Lakes High School class of 1992. She went on to earn a master's of education and taught elementary school for 26 years in New Hampshire and later, in South Carolina. She was far more than just a teacher to her students; she always made sure they were taken care of in and out of school.

Angela loved the beach. She spent her summers at the ocean in Wells, Maine, and vacationed yearly in Florida. As long as she could smell the ocean, see and hear the waves, Angela was happy. She enjoyed camping and was always delighted to take her family to Walt Disney World. Their excitement and wonder always brought her great joy. Nothing made Angela happier than spending time with her grandsons.

Angela is survived by her husband, John Hurd; her children Colby, Briana, Nicholas (Hannah) Hurd and Gabrielle (Alec) Atwood; her three grandsons, Wyatt, Waylon and Daniel; her mother, Patricia Lance; sisters Erica, Kristina and Terry; and close cousin, Cindy Lovering. She was predeceased by her father, Glen Gallagher, and her grandparents, Walter and Theresa Lance and Mickey and Walt. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews and dear friends.

A celebration of Angela’s life will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, July 6, in the Carriage House at Wilkinson-Beane-Simoneau-Paquette Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant St., Laconia.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to a local animal shelter of your choice, because saving animals held a special place in Angela’s heart.

Though she is no longer with us, Angela’s spirit lives on in the lives she touched and the love she gave so freely.
