LACONIA — The Femmes of Rock, a high-energy rock performance featuring a female electric string quartet, will take over the Lakeport Opera House on Saturday, Aug. 28, at 8:15 p.m. This one-of-a-kind live string show with choreography, comedy and production elements creates a unique experience.
The Femmes of Rock show has original material, a live rock band, video, lights, choreography and comedy. Led by rock violinist and arranger Nina DiGregorio, the group's show has intense solos and unique arrangements.
“We have performed with some of the biggest names in music and decided it was time for the backups to headline a show,” said DiGregorio. “Our show takes your favorite classic rock guitar players, like Jimmy Page and Jimi Hendrix, and recreates their styles on electric violins to perform your favorite classic rock hits in a unique way.”
Femmes of Rock is a Las Vegas show embarking on an east coast tour. Femmes of Rock features the music of Queen, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Van Halen, Jimi Hendrix, Metallica and more. The group has performed with Beyonce, Rod Stewart, Shakira, Andrea Bocelli and Cheap Trick. They have been featured on America’s Got Talent.
This will be the Femmes of Rock’s first and only New Hampshire performance this year. The group includes Christina Rose, Elizabeth Bedrosian and Adrianna Shaw on electric five-string violins along with electric cellist Sarah Chaffee.
