FRANKLIN — Franklin VNA & Hospice will be hosting two Drop-in Holiday Grief Support Group sessions that are open to the public during the upcoming holiday season — Thursday, Nov. 13, from 10 a.m. to noon and Thursday, Dec. 11, from 10 a.m. to noon.
Anyone who has suffered a death is welcome, whether they were the caregiver, family member, friend, or a community member. The grief groups will be facilitated by our Hospice Chaplain Mark William. The holidays present unique challenges when you are grieving. This targeted, one-day program — offered once in November and once in December — will provide support, understanding, and the tools to navigate through them.
Grief has no timetable. It may come in waves during the turbulent months of a loved one’s illness and then intensify after he or she has passed away. Each experience is unique and deeply personal. Emotions run the gamut from sadness, anxiety and guilt to anger, helplessness, and depression. What many people who've lost someone they love want, is the opportunity to be able to talk about their loved one in a space where they can safely share what they are going through with people who have had a similar loss in an environment structured to help them navigate the grieving process.
There is no registration or fee to attend this group. For more information, call 603-934-3454 or email info@franklinvna.org.
