CAMPTON — William “Wiggy” Carl Plaisted, 78, of Campton, passed away peacefully on Oct. 20, 2025, at Forest View Manor in Meredith, following a period of declining health.

Born on Dec. 27, 1946, in Campton, he was the son of the late Fred and Marjorie (Keniston) Plaisted. A lifelong resident of the area, Wiggy was deeply rooted in the land he loved. He spent his life working as a logger and farmer, finding joy in the woods and a deep connection with his animals.

Wiggy enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, William and Colton Plaisted. He especially enjoyed spending time working on vehicles with his grandson, Zachary — sharing not only his knowledge but also his love of hands-on work and problem solving. He will be remembered fondly for his generous spirit, his easy way of striking up conversations, and his genuine interest in people. He never met a stranger — only friends he hadn’t talked to yet.

Wiggy is survived by his daughters, Ida Gould, Ann McKenney and Diana Plaisted; his brothers, Fred Plaisted and Sam Plaisted; his grandchildren, Laura Sausville, Zachary Gould, Alyssa Nichols, Danielle Plaisted, Christopher Plaisted, William Plaisted and Colton Plaisted; as well as three great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his longtime companion, Lynda Johnson, who remained a steadfast presence in his life.

He was predeceased by his parents, his brother Daniel Keniston, and his sister Elizabeth Carter.

A graveside service to honor Wiggy’s life will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 29, at Blair Cemetery, located on Blair Road in Campton. All who knew him are welcome to attend and pay their respects. The service will be followed by a celebration of his life at the Common Man Inn, 231 Main St., Plymouth.
