ALTON — Every two seconds, someone in the U.S. needs blood. The Wolfeboro Lions Club encourages the community to help save lives by participating in a local blood drive on Thursday, Nov. 20, from 12:30 to 5 p.m. at Saint Katharine Drexel Church, 40 Hidden Springs Road in Alton.
The blood drive is open to everyone in the community. Donations are critical to hospital patients in local neighborhoods and across the nation, including accident and burn victims, heart surgery and organ transplant patients, and those receiving treatment for leukemia, cancer, or sickle cell disease.
Appointments are encouraged but walk-ins are welcome. To make an appointment or learn more, download the American Red Cross Blood Donor App, visit RedCrossBlood.org, or call 1-800-RED-CROSS.
