On Friday, December 11, Forestview Manor Assisted Living on Parade Road will host an Open House, featuring a quilt display by the Country Village Quilters’ Guild.
The Community is cordially invited to attend the Open House to view the quilts from 2 to 4 p.m. in Manor II (the building located up the hill and on the left).
The quilt display will remain at Forestview Manor through Friday, January 8, and viewing will be open daily to all the Lakes Region Community, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The Country Village Quilters’ Guild was founded in 2000 by Carol Hoagland and Dawn Thurston with 29 members. The membership comes from a wide geographical area around the Lakes Region of New Hampshire. The purpose of the Guild is to advance the appreciation of quilting and textile arts through education, application, service and fellowship. Membership is open to anyone who has an interest in textile arts and quilting. The Guild meets on the first and third Wednesday of each month at 1:30 p.m.
Members have been active in the Community Outreach Program. The quilts at the Veteran Home in Tilton are repaired or replaced as needed. Quilts are given to children in distress for comforting.
