A Laconia dentist is looking to raise the $14,000 needed to fund an ecumenical mission aimed at providing dental care in an area of Souther Belize. Dr. Darren Boles and a team of dental professionals from his Weirs Beach office will traveling to Punta Gorda, Belize in June. There his team will meet up with other groups like themselves and perform dental and medical care — including extractions, preventative care and cleanings.

Boles team will include staff members Carolyn Alonardo, Deborah Eddy, Kathy Lacroix and Doreen Joyal, as well as Lance Alonardo and Suzann Holmberg.

According to Boles, Punta Gorda is a small town of about 5,000 people located in a lowland area of Belize that includes some of the most lush jungle found anywhere in Central America. He said the town is overgrown with lowland grass and jungle entangled trees but the people are the friendliest you will find in such an outpost location. They are also the poorest in Belize.

Dr. Boles asks for prayers and support to make the mission a reality. Contributions are tax deductible and may be sent to: Belize Mission Trip, c/o Dr. Darren Boles, P. O. Box 5577, Weirs Beach, NH 03247.
