The Village Image Salon (134 Main Street) is hosting a "Cut it Out" fundraiser on Saturday, Oct. 25, with extended hours from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. As a participant in this first annual event sponsored by the New Hampshire Coalition Against Domestic and Sexual Violence, 20-percent of the salons proceeds on Saturday will be donated to the New Beginnings shelter in Laconia.
Monetary donations will also be accepted at the salon throughout the day. Checks should be made out to New Beginnings.
"Cut it Out" is dedicated to mobilizing salon professionals and others to fight the epidemic of domestic abuse in communities throughout the country. The program focuses on building awareness of domestic abuse and educating salon professionals to recognize the signs of abuse in their clients and to safely refer them to local resources like New Beginnings.
Village Image Salon can be reached at 267-7691. The phone number at New Beginnings is 528-6511.
