The Music Ministry of Meredith's St. Charles Church will be presenting two performances of a holiday cantata, "The Voices of Christmas." On Friday, December 17, the concert will be held at 7:30 p.m. at St. Joseph's Church in Belmont, and at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, December 18, the voices will be ringing out at St. Charles Church.
The cantata features a chorus of 40 voices from area churches, five soloists, and six narrators. It brings to life the Christmas story, using both familiar carols and new musical material.
The narration uses familiar scripture readings with "voices" reflecting on present day life. Composer Joseph Martin promises it will be one of the most beautiful musical works of this holiday season.
With orchestral accompaniment, the concert will run for an estimated 55 minutes. A free will offering will be taken. Call 279-0126 for more information.
