In a letter dated September 15, 2005, the New England Association of Schools and Colleges announced that “Sacred Heart School, on recommendation from the Commission on Independent Schools, has been elected to institutional membership and granted accreditation by the Association.”
The welcome news culminates two years of preparation, including comprehensive responses to the internal self study that focused both intensively and extensively on a long list of criteria that included, for example, the mission, curriculum development, enrollment management, professional staff, parent relations, budgeting, and culture of the school.
A beaming Sister Mary Joan Walsh, OLL, principal, said that to her knowledge, “Sacred Heart School is only the second elementary school in the Diocese of Manchester to be accorded the privilege and honor of NEASC accreditation. It marks a milestone in the school’s forty-two year history of educational excellence. Those of us who labor here to provide the best education possible for our children always believed that we were doing a superb job. The accreditation confirms our belief and shows that others recognize all that we accomplish day by day and year by year.”
Sacred Heart School is a Catholic elementary school accredited by the NEASC. It serves children in Pre-Kindergarten through Grade 8. The strong academic program challenges students intellectually and imaginatively as they grow. The faculty nurtures creative thought, ethical behavior, and moral values — the qualities thatmake our communities great. Sacred Heart School also provides full-day kindergarten, before-school care, and after-school care to accommodate parents’ schedules. Enrollment is ongoing for all grades.
