LACONIA — The 3rd Annual Runaway Pumpkin 10K & 5K Run/Walk will once again help kick off the NH Pumpkin Festival on Saturday, Oct. 14, at 9 a.m. This community fundraiser benefits both the WOW Trail and Greater Lakes Region Children’s Auction.
All of the fun starts and finishes at the Smith Track at Opechee Park. Both the 10K and 5K courses offer beautiful views of Lake Opechee, chip timing by Millennium Running, a Kids Fun Run, cash awards for the top male and female finishers and "delicious" age category awards.
Participants are encouraged to register by this Friday, Sept. 29, in order to receive a long-sleeve Tech T-shirt. Additionally, any runners and walkers who would like to fundraise for the WOW Trail and Children’s Auction are invited to do so by soliciting sponsorship donations. Participants who raise $100 or more will receive a WOW Trail pullover.
“This family friendly event attracts over 500 participants,” said WOW Trail Board Member and Event Director Jennifer Beetle. “We’re looking forward to hosting our largest field of participants ever this year and raising important funds for the WOW Trail and the Greater Lakes Region Children’s Auction.”
Event details and online registration are available at www.runawaypumpkin.com or for more information, email events@wowtrail.org.
