Carol Dale, whose rug hooking exhibit, "A Feast of Color," will be on view at the Belknap Mill through Oct. 19, is holding a workshop at the mill on Thursday, Oct. 5, 6-9 p.m. A reception for the public will be Monday, Oct. 9, 6-8 p.m.

The Gilford artist's exhibit features traditional rug hooking rugs and wall hangings by ten contemporary artists. Her goal has been to "present the beauty, color and creativity of modern hand hooked wall hangings and rugs, using traditional techniques with contemporary flair."

Other artists whose works are featured are Angela Foote, Barrington; Terri Strack, Bedford; Deborah Harvey, Gilford; Kathi Hopper, Alton; Carolyn Hatch, Albany; Martha Beals, Sidney, Maine; Lisa Costigan, Westmoreland; and Sue Jacoby, Moultonborough.

The rugs and wall hangings are for sale, as well as wool fabrics, hooks, quilting hoops and kits.

Dale's two-hour workshop is geared for beginners, but others are also invited. Sign up in advance because space is limited. A $50 fee covers both the kit and professional training.
