GILFORD — On Sunday, Sept. 13, the First United Methodist Church will start the Sunday school year with some creative fun with food and puzzles. Families are invited to come and be part of this.
Students aged 3 through teenagers will enter into their fall schedule by doing some creative cookie decorating, then they will be challenged by a variety of puzzles – some easy enough for pre school, others so complex that the teens might have a little trouble figuring them out.
Children and youths can be registered by arriving at the church a little before 10:30 a.m. Registration forms will be available in the front entrance of the church for parents to fill out. Students will stay for the beginning of the service and for those who are able, present a song they have learned at Camp Wanakee. The students will then adjourn to Fellowship Hall to prepare cookies and do some puzzles.
Everyone is invited to stay for a luncheon that will follow worship. The menu will include fruit, pizza, beverages, and puzzle cookies the children will have prepared.
On Sept.r 20, classes will begin for children aged three through teens.
Parents are welcome to stay and worship while their children attend classes and a nursery is always available for children under three.
The Methodist Church is located at 18 Wesley Way (off Route 11A near the 3/11 Bypass), Gilford. Those with questions can call the church at (603) 524-3289.
