The New Hampton Historical Society will soon be hosting two programs that focus on great figures of American history. Both are a part of the Great American Program Series and are free and open to the public.
On Tuesday, Feb. 12, Dr. Kenneth Shewmaker of Dartmouth College will present a biographical program on the life and career of Daniel Webster, one of the nation’s greatest orators and statesmen at the Gordon-Nash Library at 7 p.m.
On Thursday, April 17, Eleanor Roosevelt will be stop by to discuss her work as an advocate for universal human rights. Performer Elena Dodd, of Boston, offers this program as one of four parts of her well researched “Meet Eleanor Roosevelt” presentations. Again the program will be at the Gordon-Nash Library and begin at 7 p.m.
The Great American Series of educational programs is made possible through grants from the New Hampshire Humanities Council.
