PLYMOUTH — The Plymouth State Ice Arena will be open over the July 4 weekend for public skating and skating lesson through the summer. Check the Plymouth arena's schedule page for the wide variety of public ice times.
Skating and lessons are available in a variety of programs from ice dancing for adults, to freestyle ice for experienced figure skaters, and lessons for beginners.
The Plymouth State Skating Academy will begin summer lessons on Tuesday July 8 at 6 p.m. and run through the end of August. The Skating Academy is one of over 1000 US Figure Skaing's Basic Skills programs providing instruction for beginners through advanced skaters. The program was established in 2010 with the opening of the new arena and shares staff and curriculum with the Magic Blades Figure Skating Club of Tilton.
Freestyle Ice for advanced skaters is available on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 4:30.
The Plymouth Rock curling league was also new addition to the arena offerings this spring and will continue over the summer. Check the Arena web site for teams and "drop in curling" over the summer.
