Pines Center offers casino trips, yoga and summer playground

The Pines Community Center is offering Casino Bus Trips to Foxwoods Saturday, July 21, to Mohegan Sun Saturday, September 15, and to Foxwoods Saturday, October 20.

Busses depart at 7 a.m. from the Winnisquam Regional High School student parking lot and return at 7 p.m.

Seats are available on a first come first serve. Pre-payment is required to hold a spot. The cost is$30.00 per person and minimum of 36 paying customers is required to run the trip.

The Pines is offering a Yoga Experience with Santosha on Tuesday evenings from 5:30 to 6:45 p.m. This is a gentle to moderate yoga experience for individuals of all ages and ability levels with no experience necessary. This class incorporates experiential learning of yoga tools that participants can integrate into their daily lives to deepen the connections with all aspects of themselves, others, and life. Santosha is a certified yoga instructor whose trainings include Kripalu, Anusara, Vinyasa and Chakra yoga. Call the Pines to find out about the next yoga session. Classes are $15 each or $48 for a four week session.

Spaces are still available for children in the Summer Playground Program. An eight week day camp runs June 25 to August 17 for children ages six to 12 with hours from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. The weekly rate is $100, or a resident fee of $330 for the entire eight weeks (not including extended care).

The Community Center would like to thank Stride Rite and Linda Butler, located at the Tanger Outlet mall for their Superball Shoe give away. Stride Rite has given away two pairs of of the new Superball Shoes to a deserving child in the Union Sanborn School and Southwick School. The new shoes feature bouncy balls in the soles of the shoes that give them a little extra bounce. The Superball Shoes are feature at the Pines Community Center along with coupons.
