CONCORD — Paula M. Hiuser of Laconia has been appointed by Governor John Lynch to the New Hampshire Motor Vehicle Services Board, which oversees disputes between automobile dealers and distributors in the state and automobile manufacturers.

Vice President of commercial sales assistants managers at TD Bank in Concord, Ms. Hiuser, worked over 13 years in automobile dealerships. Additionally, she has served on the VW Dealer 20 Group of the National Automobile Dealers Association (NADA), a national board with the charge of improving relationships between VW and its various franchised dealers.

Ms. Hiuser brings to the services board expertise in financial review and oversight. She worked as General Manager of Lakes Region Volkswagen Audi and, prior to that, owned WKXL Radio in Concord. She also served as Branch Manager at Citizens Bank in Amherst in the mid '90s.

Ms. Hiuser holds a Master's of Business Administration degree from the Plymouth State University, with an undergraduate degree from the University of Waterloo in Waterloo, Ontario.

Established by law in 1996, the seven-member Motor Vehicle Industry Board is chaired by the Christopher Casko, Esq., Commissioner of Safety; the board is attached to the NH Department of Safety. Meetings generally occur quarterly for the hearing of alleged violations of New Hampshire's statute RSA 357-C covering the regulation of business practices between motor vehicle manufacturers, distributors and dealers. Decisions are administrative rather than judicial, though parties to any hearing are entitled to legal representation.
