J. Jill Compassion Fund has awarded $5,000 to Ozanam Place to help single parents in the Lakes Region who are at-risk of homelessness.

The fund supports community-based organizations that help poor and homeless women become self-sufficient. J. Jill, a national women’s clothing retailer based in Quincy, Mass., gives to organizations not only in its local area, but across the country, as well. Since 2002, J. Jill compassion fund grants have supported more than 25 organizations that help women to empower themselves and change their lives.

Ozanam Place seeks to find permanent, long-term solutions to the problem of homelessness, rather than focusing on short-term alleviation of symptoms. The program offers homeless single-parents and children rental subsidies to find permanent housing as soon as possible.

Ozanam Place’s offices are at 63 Highland Street in Laconia. Interested parties should contact Bill Johnson at 524-1341.
