Megan Floyd recently became the Huot Child Development Center's Assistant Manager. Floyd is a graduate if Patti Hines’ early childhood education high school program and earned 11 Lakes Region Community College (LRCC) Running Start credits while still in high school. Running Start allows secondary school students to earn college credits while at the same time meeting their high school graduation requirements.
“I am excited to have a former Huot Tech Center student who is trained and knows our program well,” says Hines, who has worked with Kibbee and Floyd in LRCC’s Running Start Program. “Megan is a motivated and mature student who has worked really hard to meet her goals. Her youthful enthusiasm adds an extremely positive dimension to Huot’s Child Development Center.”
Professor Kibbee said she's proud of her student's accomplishments. “Megan’s love of children and dedication to the field of early childhood is exhilarating. She sets a high standard for all aspiring Early Childhood teachers; Megan is top-notch!”
Floyd received the Patricia Ann Huot Early Childhood Scholarship and was voted into the National Technical Honor Society while at Laconia High School. Floyd has achieved Vice President’s List status at LRCC, an honors designation.
