LACONIA — Fresh fish caught off the coast of New Hampshire will be brought to Laconia through the New Hampshire Community Seafood (NHCS) cooperation. For more information, or to sign up for deliveries, go to New Hampshire Community Seafood | Support your Fishermen. Eat Fresh & Local. or email nhcommunityseafood@gmail.com, or go to http://www.laconialocaleatery.com.
New Hampshire Community Seafood was created to be a type of "farm share for fish" and the second session of the year starts in two weeks. NHCS has seen phenomenal overall growth of CSF members in just its second year from 250 members to 520, and in distribution points, 7 to 13, which includes more instate regions such as Laconia, Canterbury, Concord, Nashua, Plymouth, and Manchester, who traditionally have never had access to catch of the day fish by their own NH fishermen.
NHCS is a cooperative of fishermen and consumers who've joined together to protect the ocean, sustain New Hampshire's fishing industry and support the local economy. They offer a Community Supported Fishery (CSF) and a Restaurant Supported Fishery (RSF) program from June-December, which provides consumers and restaurants with a weekly share of the freshest fish available. The fish is caught and delivered dock to dish within 24 hours of offload. This fish will be brought to Laconia's Local Eatery who has been participating in the RSF program for the past 6 weeks.
