Rist-Frost-Shumway Engineering (RFS) has announced its most recent group of staff members who have achieved U.S. Green Building Council LEED® Accreditation. The staff members include: Phil Whitton, Jr., P.E., manager of Electrical Engineering; Marybeth LaRocque, E.I., Plumbing/Fire Protection engineer; John Scott, P.E., manager of Civil Engineering; Ed Jansury, Jr., P.E., L.L.S., senior civil engineer; Jerry Graybill, commissioning agent; Fran Patnode, commissioning agent; and Michael Hoyt, commissioning agent.
The USGBC, founded in 1993, is a non-profit trade organization that promotes sustainability in how buildings are designed, built and operated. The USGBC is well known for the development of the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED®) rating system, a framework for assessing building performance and meeting sustainability goals. Nearly 50-percent of the RFS technical staff is USGBC LEED® Accredited.
Chris Shumway, president of RFS, stated, "RFS supports the USGBC through corporate membership, and we highly encourage our technical staff to pursue LEED Accreditation. We are very proud of our staff members' accomplishments which demonstrate continued commitment to sustainable design, both at a personal level, and within our organization."
