MOULTONBOROUGH — For many years the Moultonborough Lions Club has hosted an August dinner for residents of Mountain View and Golden View Nursing Homes. This year they added residents of Forest View to the list. Thus, a new tradition has begun.

As the buses arrived, guests were greeted by the Lions and ushered to their seats. They were then offered a choice of drink along with some scrumptious appetizers. When dinner was ready, Lion members took orders from the guests and served them. The choice was hamburger, hot dog, potato salad, pasta salad and sliced farm fresh tomatoes. Of course no dinner is complete without dessert so when all were finished, ice cream sandwiches were passed out.

President Jenni Williams then opened the meeting by welcoming each group and thanking them for coming out for the night. She then thanked all the people working behind the scenes to make the dinner such a success.

After a patriotic song was sung, President Jenni told a short story – with a moral – which put a smile on everyone's face and set the mood for the rest of the night. She then introduced the entertainment for the night "Johnny's Animal HiJinks." A thirty minute tape of Johnny Carson's most unforgettable moments when being introduced to wild and exotic animals by Joan Embery of the San Diego Zoo and Jim Fowler of Wild Kingdom.

Everyone present laughed out loud as they watched this tape. Johnny Carson truly was the King of Late Night TV. His facial expressions were hilarious.
