Miss New Hampshire 2009 Lindsey Graham of Sandown will cruise on the U.S. Mail Boat M/V Sophie C. on Saturday, August 1 at 2 p.m. The cruise departs from Weirs Beach. Passengers aboard this cruise are invited to meet and mingle with her.
Graham is a 22-year-old 2008 summa cum laude graduate of Fordham University. She has a BA in Broadcast Journalism and Theater Performance. She is a 2005 graduate of St. Thomas Aquinas High School, with a 4.0 GPA.
The 74 ft. Motor Vessel (M/V) Sophie C., the oldest floating post office in the United States, is also the only U.S. Mail Boat on an inland waterway. Each season she provides mail service on the lake, a tradition dating back to 1892. Both of Sophie's daily mail runs takes her to five islands where her staff delivers mail to the island residents and summer camps. Sophie C's afternoon mail stops are Camp Lawrence, Birch Island, Sandy Island, Cow Island, and Jolly Island.
Tickets prices are: Adults (over 12) $22, Children (4-12) $11, Children under age 4 are free.
