BRISTOL — Doctors Anil and Teresa Henry, medical missionaries serving in India, will be attending worship at Bristol United Church of Christ, on Sunday, Sept. 18. The doctors will be sharing their story during the morning worship service at 10 a.m. After worship there will be a pot-luck luncheon and they will continue with a presentation that includes pictures of their work at Christian Hospital Mungeli, Chhattisgarh, India. All are welcome. They will also be presenting a community program at the Minot Sleeper Library in Bristol on Tuesday, Sept. 20, at 7 p.m.

Anil and Teresa are serving a four-year term with the Synodical Board of Health Services of the Church of North India. This is a joint appointment by the Common Global Ministries Board of the Christian Church and the United Church of Christ. Anil serves as a medical doctor and Teresa serves as the anesthesiologist. This is one of the poorest regions of India.

Anil was born Aug. 7, 1966, in Khariar, India. Both Anil and Teresa were educated at Christian Medical College, Vellore and Ludhiana. Anil's experience includes working in the Punjab; Bissamcuttack in Odisha, India, and Baptist Hospital, Nashville, Tennessee. Teresa was born in Dhamtari, India. She has also worked at Christian Medical College, Ludhiana and at Christian Hospital Bissamcuttack as well as their current assignment, Christian Hospital Mungeli.

Anil and Teresa have three children; Ankita, born Oct. 29, 1992, Abhisher, born April 20, 1998, and Abhijeet, born April 20, 1998. Ankita is a recent graduate of Denison University in Ohio and just completed a year in Taiwan as a Fulbright Scholar. Both boys will be attending Denison this Fall. Anil and Teresa's church membership is with Brookmeade Congregational Church, Nashville, Tennessee.
