LACONIA — The silent movie biblical saga, "The Life and Passion of Christ," depicting the life and death of Jesus, will be the "LRPA After Dark" presentation this Friday and Saturday, March 25 and 26, at 10:30 p.m. on Public Access Channel 25.

"The Life and Passion of Christ" (in French, "La Vie et la Passion du Jésus Christ"), initially released in 1902 and re-released in an expanded version in 1905, is a very early French film from the pioneering production company Pathé Frères.

At 44 minutes long, "The Life and Passion of Christ" is considered by most film scholars to be one of the earliest feature-length films ever produced.

The film was crated using the Pathécolor process, a method of adding color to film originally shot and printed in black-and-white. The method was painstakingly slow. In fact, "The Life and Passion of Christ" took three years to complete.

This film, more than 100 years old, is a remarkable piece of film history and a charming celebration of Easter.

MetroCast Cablevision subscribers can watch the film on Channel 25, or by going to LRPA's website (www.lrpa.org) and clicking on the live stream.
