The League of Women Voters of New Hampshire(LWVNH) sent a letter today to John Stephen, commissioner of the NH Department of Health and Human Services, calling on him to provide real opportunities for public comment on his proposal to waive Federal rules to implement changes in the Medicaid program. The letter was in response to what the League considersthe inadequate noticefor today’s public hearing.
"Three days' notice on an issue of this magnitude, frankly, gives the appearance that public opinion is the very last thing your office seeks," said Jane Armstrong, president of the LWVNH.
