LACONIA — In Savor the Season tent on Thursday, August 21 Tammy Levesque, Wellness Coordinator for the Laconia Schools and Program Coordinator for Lakes Region HEAL will present a program for children. Levesque and helpers will be in the tent at the Laconia Main Street Marketplace from 3-5 p.m.
How many different vegetables are sold at the market? What is an Aunt Molly's ground cherry? Do they taste more like melon or pineapple? Does a kale smoothie really taste good? Parents and children will find the answers to these questions and more when they visit the market. Children can feed the worms in a worm farm, and create a mini Sunflower Shoot garden to take home. The tent will be open rain or shine, and participation is free. The Savor the Season tent is sponsored by the Lakes Region Food Network, with support from the Laconia Main Street Marketplace.
