Restoring and/or rehabilitating the exterior of downtown businesses is exactly what the Laconia Main Street Program Design Team is encouraging through their Façade Improvement Grant.
Available on a first come, first served basis, the grant monies are available to qualifying businesses/buildings located within the Main Street district. With a maximum of $500 available, the funds can be used for a variety of façade improvement projects, including signage, exterior window and architectural repair, painting, exterior lighting, awnings and landscaping as well as masonry.
The available funds will help preserve and update many of Laconia’s historic properties. By encouraging the redevelopment of the city’s historic properties that house commercial ventures, Laconia’s Main Street Program hopes to further the reestablishment of the City of the Lakes as the heart of the Lakes Region.
