LACONIA — The Laconia Democrats will hold their next monthly meeting on Tuesday, Aug. 15, at 6:30 p.m. at the Belknap County Democratic office at 354 S. Main St. in Laconia. The featured speaker will be Lucas Meyer of the NH Young Democrats, who will talk about the new programs and initiatives being developed to engage younger voters across the state. This event is free and open to registered Democrats in Belknap County

“Our Laconia group is more active than ever,” said Liz Merry, the Laconia committee chairman. “We are helping to organize information sessions on several issues of public interest, such as climate change, and are now focused on helping Charlie St. Clair win a second seat for Democrats in the State House during the special election on Sept. 12.”

The Laconia Democrats now share permanent office space with the Belknap County Democrats on Main Street, just south of the Vista Foods parking lot. They hold monthly meetings there, with guest speakers on key policy themes impacting this community.

“We hope you will join our guests from the Laconia community, and from all parts of Belknap County, on Aug. 15,” said Merry. “This is your chance to connect with other interested Democrats in the area – to hear an important public information session on some vital policy issues, and to make your own voice heard in shaping the future of our community.” For more information, contact Merry at laconiademocrats@gmail.com.
