MEREDITH — Cackleberry Garden Center has expanded its business this season opening a new antique shop called Cacktiques and Kooky Treasures.
Inspired by a trip to an antique auction, owner Laurie Perry, got the idea of turning a small garden house into an antique shop that could be open year round. Unsure of how to pursue her antique shop endeavor, Perry proposed the idea to her employee and antique enthusiast, Linda French, and within months the shop began to take form.
The vision of the shop is to embody a garden feel, featuring items that can be used as garden art and planters; however, the shop also features an assortment of furniture, and random trinkets, such as their prized alligator head. Each items available has been individually selected by Perry at local auctions, and the shops items are updated frequently.
"We are very pleased with the outcome of the shop," said Perry. "We tried to create something that would compliment the garden and have a little something for everyone."
Cackleberries Garden Center is open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and is located at 419 Daniel Webster Highway in Meredith. For more information about the garden, antique store, or upcoming events at the center visit www.cackleberriesgardencenter.com.
