MEREDITH — The Meredith Historical Society is accepting donations of yard sale-type item for the society's sale during Meredith's Townwide Yard Sale on Saturday, May 21.

Proceeds from the sale, at the Farm Museum on Winona Road, will help the society raise money to fund repairs to its Main Street building.

In addition, there will be a plant sale of perennials. A special feature will be cuttings from the "Meredith Rose," a yellow rose bush believed to have been carried from Scotland by workers at the long-gone Linen Mill. Once grown all around Meredith, a healthy descendant is flourishing in the garden beside the Main Street Historical Society. There will also be many other perennials available.

Those wishing to donate items to the society for the sale may call 279-2275. However, appliances or clothing cannot be accepted.
