A city couple will be hosting an grand opening celebration/open house for Helping Hands Volunteer Services and a new Avon products franchise at the historic Tavern building downtown on Saturday, June 4 at 2 p.m. Barry and Lisa Laughton predict an exciting time, with raffles, door prizes, a viewing of Helping Hands fundraiser items — including hand-crafted crocheted and knitted hats, blankets and dish cloths — as well as a sampling of homemade gourmet goodies.

"Please plan to attend, the open house is open to the public and all are welcome to attend," said Lisa Laughton.

The Tavern building is located at 7 Church Street. Entrance to the open house will be through either of the parking lot doors on the east side of the building, which is handicap accessible. Parking is available in the lot next to the building or in the municipal lot across Beacon Street East.

To R.S.V.P. for this event please contact Barry Laughton (603-738-5643) with Helping Hands or Lisa Laughton (603-738-5640) with Avon. The couple may be contact via e-mail at "laconiahelps@yahoo.com, barrylgth@yahoo.com or laughton 51071@yahoo.com.

The Laughtons request that guests bring canned beverages or a small refreshment to share with people attending the celebration.
