The Greater Meredith Program (GMP) has announced the creation of "Meredith on Ice", a Promotion Committee project designed to create more activities for residents and visitors to Meredith during the Meredith Rotary Club Fishing Derby on February 11 and 12.

Meredith on Ice activities will include a Bob House Crawl, a contest of bob house displays on Meredith Bay and four winter games, including the Bob House Pull, Polar Bear Tug (of-war), Beer Keg Roll, and the Chili Dog Chow Down. All events will have prizes.

The Bob House Crawl will include two contest categories, business and individual, and GMP's Promotion Committee is actively seeking people who would like to display their bob houses. Four businesses/organizations who’ve already signed up include Lamprey & Lamprey Real Estate, the Fermentation Station, The Inns & Spa at Mill Falls, and the Greater Meredith Program. The committee also has confirmation that at least five individual contestants have committed to participating in the contest.

Bob House Crawl prizes will be awarded for best business display, best individual display, and best in show (popular vote). An event guide and map of the bob house displays will be created promoting all the events, locations, times of activities, and highlight sponsors of the event.

The Committee is looking for sponsors for the games and has already secured Budweiser as a sponsor for the Beer Keg Roll. Any business interested in sponsoring a game should call the GMP office at 279-9015 for more information. The Promotion Committee is also looking for contestants for the four games.
