GILFORD — Many people have indicated to members of the Gilford Historical Society that they would like to visit the 1838 Rowe House and the 1857 Grange, or having visited, that they think that both places are gems and they would like to bring visiting relatives or friends. It has been decided that, besides being open on Old Home Day, the buildings will be open on the first Saturday of each month, July through October, from 10 am. to 2 pm. They are both located in the Village, the Grange at 8 Belknap Mt. Road, opposite the Village Store, and the red brick Rowe House at 88 Belknap Mt. Road, beside the elementary school.

Guests will have an opportunity to visit an 1838 home to visualize what life was like for the ordinary members of our farming community, or a recreated homestead to get a sense of living in a one room home when Gilford was first being settled, or a store in the 1850's.
