Eating out in March can help LHS band buy new uniforms

Good food combined with good friends is a great cure for cabin fever. Its even better when it helps raise money for a good cause. This month the Laconia High School band has arranged for that to happen, not once but twice.

Uno’s Bar and Grille in Tilton will make a donation equaling 20-percent of all food orders, including take out, accompanied by a special promotional flyer on Thursday, March 5, between the hours of 11 a.m. and 5 p.m.

Then on the evening of Sunday, March 16, gather your friends for dinner at Fratello’s Italian Restaurant in Laconia or place an order “to go” and all food orders accompanied by their flyer between 4 p.m. and 9 p.m. will earn 25-percent for the band.

Its essential that the flyers accompany orders for the band to get credit and earn their percentage. Students and booster members will be distributing flyers, but for anyone who may not have contact with those folks, the flyers have been posted on the LHS website at "www.laconia.k12.nh.us/lhs/". Go to the home page and scroll down to the words “LHS Band Fundraiser” in red and click on it, or simply enter "www.laconia.k12.nh.us/lhs/Bandfundraiser.htm" to be taken directly to the links for the two flyers. Print as many as you want to share with friends and family or e-mail the page to them to print.

Debbie Bolduc, band public relations coordinator points out, “Uno’s and Fratello’s have been wonderful to allow this fundraising opportunity, but this can only work if we get the word out. We appreciate any help we can get to achieve that.”

All proceeds from these two fundraisers will help pay for the band’s new uniforms to be worn when they perform at Disney’s Epcot in April. According to Deb Gibson, the band’s director “the LHS band has a long history of representing Laconia in local parades and performances. It’s wonderful to see the public support our efforts to proudly represent Laconia in new uniforms at Epcot in Florida”. Donations have been relieved from local businesses a well as alumni and their families.
