GILFORD — A yard sale will be held Saturday and Sunday, May 16 and 17 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 3 Hammond Road in Gilford.
Proceeds from this event will benefit Gilford High School eighth grader Miaya Shurbert, who has recently become a student ambassador for the People to People program. There are twelve students in Shurbert's group from all over New Hampshire and two students from Vermont. The group will be going on a European heritage trip this summer, visiting 7 countries in 20 days; England, France, Belgium, the Netherlands, Austria, Germany and Switzerland. Shurbert is excited to see parts of the world she has never seen before and become exposed to various new cultures.
The kids accepted into the program are required to raise money for their trip through fundraisers and donations. To help support this event community members are asked to donate unwanted items in good condition to be sold at the yard sale. To arrange for a donation, call (603) 455-4820.
